In AT YOUR LEISURE we do not forget that most people who travel to the country dedicate some days to rest at any of the beautiful beaches the country counts on.
We also realize that not everyone likes the same kind of beaches, so we have made a brief selection with information from those, in our opinion, more important so you can get an idea of the beach variety the country has to offer.
Some of them are typical tropical resting beaches with luxury hotels. Others are less visited ones, where you can be almost alone.  What you will not find is crowds to disturb your rest.

      MANUEL ANTONIO:

This National Park’s beauty has caused lodging offers to proliferate on the road to the park turning it into one of the most animated beach areas.Getting to know what might be the best of the country’s beaches within the protected areas should be inexcusable.

      CONCHAL BEACH:

It is considered one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the country.  There, at the beach itself, a luxurious beach hotel has been built by the Meliá Hotel chains.  Other lodging offers can be found nearby.

      GRANDE BEACH:

Long miles of almost deserted beach await during the day for the visitors to this protected area which is an important spot for the egg laying of the great baula sea turtle. There are several comfortable hotels at the beach waiting for the traveler.

      PLAYA CARRILLO:

Known as the beach of the future.  Lodging is still limited in this handsome place prepared for tourist development though what is missing in Carrillo can be found in Sámara, a nearby beach.  It is mainly a resting site that has an airport and facilities for sailfish fishing.

      UVA BEACH:

The Caribbean area offers the wildest semi-deserted beaches where all kinds of hotels can be found.  Uva Beach is one the best of them, in a really different scenery.

      HERMOSA BEACH:

A comfortable hotel managed by Sun Hotels, hosts this area’s visitors located northeast of the country, which receives a large amount of national tourism.

      TAMBOR BEACH:

A comfortable bay that houses one of the largest beach hotels  in the country:  Barceló Tambor Beach resort with all included system offers resting, fun and activities. There is also the choice to stay in other sites in the bay or even the nearby and peculiar town of Montezuma.

      BLANCA BEACH:

This quiet beach is located within a private club that offers hotel and natural reserve and is the closest to San José, only two hours driving.

      CULEBRA BAY:
This area is located in the promising Papagayo Gulf that has been recently developed and hosts an international airport.  There can be found several luxury hotels where to rest at your ease, fish or go scuba diving.
      CUAJINIQUIL BEACH:

Fresh water and quietness await for Santa Elena Bay’s visitor near Santa Rosa Park.  There is no lodging there but camping nearby is an option.
